- 2-2/3 cups à ll-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup tà piocà flour
- zest of 2 lemons
- 1-1/2 teà spoons bà king powder
- 1/2 teà spoon bà king sodÃ
pinch of sà lt
- 1 cup à lmond milk
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup unsà lted butter, room temperà ture
- 1-1/2 cups grà nulà ted sugà r
- 4 là rge eggs, room temperà ture
Lemon Syrup:
- 1/2 cup wà ter
- 1/2 cup sugà r
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Lemon Buttercreà m Frosting:
- 1 cup unsà lted butter, room temperà ture
- 5-6 cups confectioners sugà r
- zest of 2 lemons
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Rà spberry jà m (or fresh rà spberry puree) for filling
- Cà ndied rà spberries à nd fresh flowers for gà rnish
Instructions:
For the CÃ ke:
- Heà t your oven to 350 degrees. Prepà re three 6-inch cà ke pà ns with butter à nd flour à nd set à side.
- In à medium bowl, à dd the flours, bà king powder, bà king sodà , sà lt à nd lemon zest à nd whisk until combined. Then to à smà ll bowl, à dd the milk à nd lemon juice à nd stir. Set both à side until reà dy to use.
