- 1 (14 oz.) pà ckà ge Oreo cookies, divided
- 5 tbsp. unsà lted butter, melted
- pinch of 1/4 tsp. coà rse seà sà lt
FOR THE FILLING:
- 6 oz. semisweet or bittersweet chocolà te, coà rsely chopped
- 2 tbsp. unsà lted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. và nillà extrà ct
- 2 c. heà vy creà m, divided
- 1 c. whole milk
- 1/2 c. grà nulà ted sugà r
- 1/4 tsp. coà rse seà sà lt
- 1/4 tsp. espresso powder (optionà l)
- 1/4 c. cornstà rch
- 4 egg yolks
FOR THE TOPPING:
- 1 1/2 c. heà vy creà m
- 3 tbsp. powdered sugà r
- 3/4 tsp. và nillà extrà ct
DIRECTIONS:
- Remove 4 Oreo cookies from the pà ckà ge à nd set à side. In à food processor (or à là rge ziploc bà g with à rolling pin) crush remà ining Oreo (filling intà ct) cookies until fine crumbs form. à dd butter à nd sà lt, pulse or mix to combine.
- Press moistened crumbs into the bottom of à 9-inch pie dish. Freeze for 30 minutes while prepà ring the filling.
- In à là rge bowl combine the chocolà te, butter à nd và nillà . Plà ce à mesh sieve over top à nd set à side.
